Former Leeds forward Marcus Antonsson has shed light into his miserable two-year spell at the Championship side, claiming his former team-mates backed him despite the way he was being treated by the club.Signed from Kalmar in 2016 when Garry Monk was manager, the forward was sold to Malmo last summer on a three-year deal, having spent the 2017/18 season on loan at League One Blackburn during Thomas Christiansen’s time in charge.1

Speaking to Swedish media, Antonsson said of his time at Elland Road before going on loan: “Then I felt a support from the players, that they were annoyed andirritated at what the club was doing.“Its not right to treat someone like that. Cohesion is absolutely good in such situations, I experienced that anyway.On his loan move to Blackburn, Antonsson added:I was not surprised, because they [Leeds] changed owners and sports manager. I forgot to mention it before, I was Massimo Cellinos guy, I was his signing. I wasnt the coach’s choice, which I thought from the beginning. Swede Antonsson has had a better time of it at his new club, scoring eight goals in 12 league games for Malmo this term.He is set to figure in their Europa League tie against Chelsea on Thursday night – a game you can listen to live on talkSPORT 2, kick-off 8pm.
