Meetings were held between both parties last week, and the deal is expected to be completed soon.Bolton fans have been protesting against Anderson over the past couple of months, with the club struggling financially throughout the majority of his tenure, which began in March 2016.Anderson has been actively looking to sell Bolton for quite a while, admitting last month he was not the man to take the club forward. He said: “For my part, I am the first to admit that the club needs someone with greater financial resources than l have to take the club forward and l can assure everyone l am doing my utmost to achieve this.”Bolton won promotion from League One during Anderson’s first full season as owner, and they narrowly secured Championship survival last term.Wanderers are fighting another battle against relegation this season, however, and they currently sit 23rd – three points from safety.

As you will no doubt have heard, Bolton Wanderers are close to a takeover deal. In a statement released on the club's website on Sunday, it was confirmed that a deal has been reached, in principle, for a UK-based consortium to buy the club from its current owner, Ken Anderson.
